Today we had our micro teaching lesson. After my experience at DACA I wanted to make something that was relevent and that each person could use on a day to day basis. I decided to create card holders to store student cards etc. I made myself a quick plan so that I could sort out what I needed.
"Explaining
how the card holder is made and showing an example s well as the time to ask
questions in the first 2 minutes of the session will work with the visual and
verbal learners. The task itself will work with the physical learners. Also
with this 10 minute session the group with have something to take with them
that is relevant to them and can be used eg. To hold student, met cards, bus
passes"
I made some hand outs which I gave to each person so that the learners could read the instructions in they didn't want to listen also there were photographs on the hand outs for the visual learners.
I tried this out on my sister and her friend however I take into consideration that she and her friend are fashion students and so completed this task quickly. On the day I ran out of time, to make this so that it would run on time or to make it so that I already put the folds in, or I could have stitched one side already. I really enjoyed this process even though it didnt go exactly to plan it made me realize that time goes allot quicker then you expect. Now we need to go back to our workshop with this knowledge and iron out any kinks
